Maevyn founder Laurie Lock traveled internationally to unique locations around the world as a violinist as a child, and later lived in Europe during her career in the music industry. That early exposure sparked a lifelong love of travel and a deep appreciation for new cultures and experiences.
As the go-to planner for curating trips for friends and family — and a former executive with strategy and event planning expertise (ask her which President and First Lady she planned an event for!) — Laurie founded Maevyn because she believes travel is one of life's great gifts. With a background as a classically trained violinist, a Broadway career, and arts leadership, she brings a performer's eye for detail and a producer's instinct for how the moments come together. Laurie's particular strength is group travel — the trips for the circles that already gather.
The world is breathtaking, and travel is one of the ways we get to witness it. The best trips, she believes, are the ones we take with the people we love.
Laurie holds an MBA from Cornell University, a B.M. from the University of Michigan, and an MM from Ithaca College, and is based between St. Louis and New York.
